My name is Judy. I am a Physical Therapist with decades of experience in
many areas of therapy including geriatric PT, general PT, pediatrics,
neurological and spinal rehabilitation, myofascial release, energy therapy
focused on sound, frequency and vibration, sports medicine, certified
wound care specialist and some pelvic floor therapy. I also am trained with
a Doctorate in Ministry with a focus on Missions.
My early career called for setting up PT in hospitals that had never had
access to it. I did a lot of marketing to the doctors of the area as well as
the community. I started PT departments in small hospitals across the
Deep South. I had a practice in Dallas where I worked mainly with people
who had headache, neck and facial pain. I also worked with several
dentists because of TMJ issues. I married, traveled with my husband and
children. I worked overseas and across the US in hospitals and clinics to
help ease the pain and suffering for the people that came.
I have always loved learning and trying new things to help my patients,
clients and family. I have looked at many different philosophies and
techniques. If it brought good results to the patient/client, we tried it. If not,
we stored it so that we could try another time, if the need arose.
I have a group of therapist friends. We all share the new stuff that we have
studied and learned. So, we get the benefit of helping more people with
info learned by another therapist. The things that work are not always
familiar or easy. But, here at The Joy of Movement, we work to get the
client to their goal of being the very best that they can be. It is lots of fun,
hard work and very rewarding.
